Farmers today face a growing crisis of climate unpredictability, rising input costs, and declining soil fertility. At Saath Gramin Trust, we empower rural communities to move from vulnerability to resilience by adopting climate-smart, sustainable agricultural practices. Our approach focuses on restoring soil health, reducing chemical dependency, and ensuring long-term food security for every household.
We believe that lasting change in agriculture is driven by collective power. By forming Farmer Producer Companies (FPOs) and training community leaders, we help farmers cut out middlemen and access markets directly. From transforming organic waste into wealth through vermicomposting to supporting women-led nutrition gardens, we are cultivating a future where farmers are not just surviving climate change, they are leading the way through it, promoting a Waste to Wealth circular economy.
KEY INITIATIVES
In partnership with Coromandel International Limited, 115 farmers, including women, in Ankleshwar were trained in vermicomposting and organic agriculture, enhancing resilience to climate-related risks.
Farmers formed the Sahajivan Krishi Farmers Proudcer Company Limited, improving market access through the grading, branding, and direct marketing of produce such as toor dal, turmeric, coriander, red chilly powder.
Expanded the initiative to 500 farmers across Ankleshwar, Viramgam, Mansa, anchored by Community Agronomy Leaders who provide localized expert guidance and manage demonstration plots.

Minaxiben’s Journey
From Kitchen Space to Nutritional Security
Minaxiben Rajeshbhai Patel from Nava Sakarpura, Ankleshwar, lives with her husband and two children. With her husband as the only earning member, buying fresh vegetables regularly was often difficult for the family.
In 2024, Saath Gramin Trust, under the Sustainable Agriculture and Community Empowerment Project supported by Coromandel International Limited, encouraged her to start a Nutri-Garden behind her home. She received seeds, nursery training, and guidance on sustainable farming practices.
Minaxiben became the first woman in her village to develop a nursery under the project. Today, her garden grows more than eight varieties of vegetables, including brinjal, tomato, ladyfinger, coriander, chillies, fenugreek, toor dal and papdi.
The family now harvests fresh vegetables every 2–3 days, reducing expenses and improving household nutrition. Her journey shows how small initiatives can create lasting change in rural families.
Manishaben’s Journey
From Smallholder Farmer to Rural Entrepreneur
Manishaben, a 45-year-old farmer from Khalifa village in Ankleshwar, Bharuch, once depended on traditional farming practices that provided uncertain income and limited livelihood opportunities.
Her journey changed after joining the Sustainable Agriculture Project implemented by Saath Gramin Trust under the CSR initiative of Coromandel International Limited. Starting as a Nutri-Garden beneficiary, she learned improved cultivation practices that strengthened her confidence and household nutrition.
Later, she developed a demonstration plot for organic coriander cultivation and successfully produced 45 kgs of coriander using sustainable farming methods.
To further support her livelihood, the project provided her with a spice and grain grinding machine. Today, she not only processes her own produce but also offers grinding services to the community, where no nearby facility exists.
Manishaben is now emerging as a confident rural entrepreneur with multiple income sources and plans to market her products through Sahajivan Krishi Farmers Producer Company Limited.
Bhupendrabhai’s Journey
From Early Adopter to Community Leader
Patel Bhupendra Karsanbhai, a 43-year-old farmer from Juna Saharkupra village in Ankleshwar, Bharuch, has emerged as a progressive farmer and community leader through sustainable agriculture practices.
His journey with the Sustainable Agriculture Project implemented by Saath Gramin Trust under the CSR initiative of Coromandel International Limited began in 2024 with the adoption of vermicomposting. Later, he developed a demonstration plot and successfully cultivated broccoli and potato using organic farming methods, producing around 400 kgs of potato and 100 kgs of broccoli.
Today, as a Community Resource Person (CRP), Bhupendrabhai trains farmers and women on preparing organic fertilizers like vermicompost and Jivamrut while promoting improved cultivation practices.
He also actively supports Sahajivan Krishi Farmers Producer Company Limited in farmer mobilization and strengthening market linkages.
Bhupendrabhai’s journey reflects how sustainable agriculture initiatives can empower farmers to become community leaders and drive long-term rural transformation.
Sureshbhai's Story
From Traditional to Diversified Farming
Vasava Suresh Budhabhai, a 44-year-old farmer from June Pungam, traditionally practiced conventional farming with limited exposure to diversified crops.
His journey changed after joining the Sustainable Agriculture Project implemented by Saath Gramin Trust under the CSR initiative of Coromandel International Limited. In 2026, he cultivated potato on one bigha of land with project support. Though it was his first experience with a diversified crop, he actively participated in trainings and followed recommended practices with dedication.
Within one cropping season, Sureshbhai produced 600 kgs of naturally grown potato. The produce supported both household consumption and local market sales, improving his family’s income and food security.
Encouraged by this success, he now plans to cultivate turmeric in the coming season.
His journey shows how training and continuous support can help farmers quickly adopt diversified and sustainable farming practices.
Dharmistaben’s Journey with Broccoli
From Unknown Crop to Profitable Choice
Dharmistaben Manishbhai Patel, a 48-year-old farmer from Sajod village in Ankleshwar, Bharuch, had never heard of broccoli before joining the Sustainable Agriculture Project supported by the CSR initiative of Coromandel International Limited and implemented by Saath Gramin Trust.
As a member of Sahajivan Farmer Producer Company, she received training in sustainable farming practices and successfully cultivated around 65 kgs of broccoli on her demonstration plot.
With support from Sahajivan, she accessed markets and sold her produce at a good price, earning better returns than traditional crops. The experience increased both her income and confidence to explore new farming opportunities.
Today, Dharmistaben plans to continue broccoli cultivation, recognizing its strong market demand and income potential.
Her journey reflects how training and institutional support can help women farmers adopt new crops and build sustainable livelihoods.
